Why use skate guards?

Always use guards when walking off the ice. Rubber mats around rinks are frequently dirty and gritty. Walking on these surfaces without guards will quickly dull the edges, requiring more frequent skate sharpenings.

Recommendation

• Keep skate guards clean by flushing with water periodically
• Don’t store skates with guards on; trapped water can rust blades
• Use terry cloth blade covers or soakers to protect figure skate blades when stored

• You will receive one pair of hard plastic skate guards – essential equipment to protect your blades when walking off the ice. They come as six pieces, with springs and Phillips-head screws included for easy assembly.
• Top Notch design is easier to cut to size. Assembled guards are 19  inches long end to end, and can be cut to any length to match yopur blades  (detailed cutting instructions included). 
• Springs make it easy to stretch the guards over your blades to put them on and take them off, and also hold the guards in place while you walk.

Forty years ago, our company, Marc Evon Enterprises Inc. – created the world’sfirst two-piece, mix ‘n match skateguard. Throughout our years of innovation, millions ofskaters, including countlessinternationally-renowned professional and amateur competitors, have relied on our guardsfor blade protection. And since so many skaters have called our guardstheir “blades best friend”, we felt naming our product, Guardog™, was both fun and fitting. Symbolized by our corporate logo comprised of the “G” with paw printsymbol and red Canadian Maple leaf, the Guardog™ brand is about quality, innovation, and our proudly Canadian heritage.

Keeping with the idea of fun, each of the dogs were specifically chosen to symbolize each area of our product focus, hence a puppy dog for FIGURE, Bulldog for HOCKEY, Greyhound for SPEED and Shar-pei for SOFTWEAR.

Over the years,
